Minimal Maximal
The fantastical landscape suggests a continuous undulation that exceeds far beyond the
picture frame. It leads the viewer’s eyes over unknown depths between ridges to an uncanny
void infinitely far away.
Geometry is contrasted with what appears to be the untouched landscape. Detailed shots
explore the taxonomy of the scene demanding an investigation of how abstract and natural
cohabitate from the smaller scene to the larger setting. This way the panorama highlights the
literal field condition whereas the singular shots investigate the peculiar relationships that
occur at the intersection between the two. It raises the question of what is made, given, and
altered. The field condition therefore further blurs the boundaries between these conditions.
The multiplicity of perspectives questions the scale just as much as the observer’s point of view.
Between the details and the panorama experiential perception and objective observation are
in immediate discussion.
